Who Gives Feedback?

When you see these websites that sell ebooks and systems, you will usually see that they follow the exact same format, with big claims in bold, followed by a little bit of "story", and then a sprinkling of feedback in yellow boxes from previous buyers.

Its always the same format, and the reason is that they are following some classic e-marketing gurus formula who's name slips my mind (but I've read his stuff). Its literally an A B C formula for online marketing.

But you have to wonder, who writes the reviews? I do not doubt that they are genuine actually, but here's my theory:

There is some kind of human trait that causes people to fire off positive feedback at the first winning trade these systems produce.

Picture this scene: Mrs Smith buys an ebook from Whizzbang Trading Systems, and sets up her charts with her 10 and 20 emas. They cross and she goes long, and the system delivers 30 pips of profit.

She goes "WOW!!!" and in the glow of excitement and optimism about her future prospects she hurriedly bashes out a glowing review to fire off to the seller:

"Dear Sir, I had previously been having no luck in forex, but since buying your system I've been amazed! Yesterday I made 30 pips in ten minutes! Thank you for being born!!! - Mary, Tennessee"

You know what I mean? We do not get to see what happened 30 days later when she was bogged down in system failure, or else forgot all about it because she got hooked by something cooler, or even more likely did not have the discipline to follow the system for more than 5 days.

All I'm saying is that I think this is some kind of pattern going on. Just throwing it out there....
