Spirals

No - but he was definitely a major influence. I found myself last night thinking that everything I learned from this guy must be all B-S, but then I realized that this was just ordinary reactionary thinking. I.e. "Boo! Hiss! Bad person!" - Typical primate-level reasoning. After some further thought, I believed and still believe this guy was a highly skilled trader and a good person, but something happened to him. It's obvious to me that he got stuck in a downward spiral. Human beings can get caught in spirals... Rare indeed is the person who sits down to consciously concoct a plot to deceive and cheat hundreds of people, lose all their money and ruin his life in the process. So obviously it just HAPPENED - he got trapped in something. For instance, I was reading in the report that a client opened an account with him depositing $30,000 and it got margin called within 72 hours. When he looked at the report this trader had re-entered a losing trade 6 times with a total of 110 mini lots. Yet he would say "never never enter a losing trade multiple times!" and "Always stay on correct margin!" Thats not conscious evil, thats someone who has totally lost the plot; someone who is in a wild state of panic and fighting the market. This is why I would NEVER manage other peoples money no matter how successful I was - I think there would be a psychological burden that could totally derail your trading if you were mentally unable to deal with the responsibility (and you might not know that until you were in it). At this point in time, this is my best guess regarding what happened to this dude. Thats the BEST case scenario anyway. The other option is that he is Satan Incarnate... |
