Essence Of The Trump Book
Finished the last bit of the Trump book today, it was a really good read. It's the kind of book you read when you need to read it, and I like the message which is very real life and no nonsense. It is like a shot of something.
In essence, the message of the book goes something like this: "Don't be a whinging pathetic wussback who complains about life and never does anything about it. Life is tough - get used to it. Get off your ass and work hard and be focused. Anything that is easy is usually not worth the effort, and besides everyone else will already be doing it. Don't listen to people who put you down or try to discourage you; believe in yourself and fight like a tiger for what you want and believe in. If people try to screw you over, get them back twice as hard - don't roll over and take it like a dog. If you succeed, give back to others and help people as much as you can. Go for it, and good luck!" Thats it. No fluff. I can see that I have sides of my character that are very aligned with this way of thinking, and other sides of my being find it a little unsophisticated and shallow. Basically I think you need a DOSE of this in you but I wouldn't want it to be the sum total of my outlook on life. I tend to find totally life goal obsessed "can do" people kind of repulsive and shallow and horribly materialistic, but you definitely need a part of your personality that can ally with and drawn on this kind of power otherwise you'll be the opposite end of the spectrum amongst the whishy washy daydreamers who do nothing. |
